Concordia Gospel Outreach Supports 'Essential Need' for Vacation Bible School Programs

Concordia Gospel Outreach is a mission-ministry of Concordia Publishing House that connects Christian people with opportunities to proclaim the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ through contributions and programs that distribute resources for evangelism worldwide.

“When some data indicate that a few thousand congregations are not offering VBS, we simply must act,” shares Dr. Bruce G. Kintz, President and Chief Executive Officer. “CPH has been involved in VBS for more than 60 years; we see it as an essential outreach program in our congregations; and the fact that limited funds might lead a congregation to cancel this important ministry is something we must help solve.”

Operation VBS is connected with the newly re-energized Concordia Gospel Outreach program. Donations received will directly fund VBS Starter Kits for congregations unable to afford VBS ministry. “The goal is to remove the financial barrier that may prevent people from offering VBS,” Kintz says. “As we look to the future, CGO may be in a position to provide other program-specific support for congregations that lack volunteers necessary for VBS, but for now we want to start with putting resources into their hands.

"CPH is a non-profit, and we will support Operation VBS corporate-wide,” Jameson explains. “Concordia Gospel Outreach provides our customers an intentional, coordinated way to help us channel CPH VBS products to support the work of congregations as they share the love of Jesus with children and families in their communities.”
